The departments of Youth and Sports have coordinated this year to celebrate the International Youth Day with a large number of initiatives.
Throughout the morning, the more than 50 young people who have enrolled in the program of activities have been able to start in the world of scuba diving with diving baptisms, as well as practicing various sports such as beach volleyball, kayaking or frisbee.
The young people have been received by the Councilor for Youth, Silvia García, the mayor of Sports, Francisco José García, and the president of the Federation of Underwater Activities of the Region of Murcia (FASRM), Jesús Cano.
Silvia García explained that "on the occasion of this day we want children and young people to enjoy a day of leisure, in a healthy environment and have fun" adding that "during the rest of the year we will develop many more activities as we have been able to do today thanks to many contributors. "
Words that have been seconded by Francisco José García who has thanked "the work of dive instructors who are teaching altruistic youth in diving baptisms" and has committed "to the Department of Youth and Sports jointly program a large number of activities for young people during this term. "
Jesús Cano of the FASRM explained that "every time the City Council of Mazarrón calls us, our federation collaborates with it. Examples are these baptisms or the closing of the underwater photography championships held in Mazarrón" and thanked "the collaboration of the Marina and Diving Center of the Southeast Bachisub ".
Precisely was with them Alfonso Bachiller de Bachisub, who has given repeated thanks to the City Council because "we have four years in which diving had been forgotten. Thanks to the new corporation, the value of this activity and its impact on Mazarrón tourism, where we have some of the best seabed in the Mediterranean to practice it. "
Today is completed by the Red Cross Red Cross Mazarrón that will carry out two prevention workshops.
One on drugs and alcohol but also focus on addiction to video games, social networks, platforms, mobile and, ultimately, all the tools associated with technology;
and another about affective-sexual education, explaining the phases of a relationship, the prevention of pregnancy or the prevention of sexual diseases.
Both workshops will be held on the Paseo de La Sal throughout the day and until approximately midnight.
The events on the occasion of this day began last Saturday with a co-organized meeting with the Youth Assembly of the Region of Murcia in which they discussed the employment opportunities for Mazarronera youth, as well as the needs of youth rural.
The activity, funded by the Youth Council of Spain and the Erasmus program of the European Union, was inaugurated by the mayor of Mazarrón, Gaspar Miras, who welcomed the young people to La Casa del Mar together with the ambassadors to the Francisco Acosta and Juan Pedro Rodríguez dialogue.
Gaspar Miras encouraged young people to participate in the greatest number of initiatives of this kind because "youth have an important role in the future and must know how to deal with social problems, cultural proposals, associative movements, etc; and thus have the opportunity in the day to day to create a more just, solidary and better society "for which it promised to" support more proposals of this type, putting at your disposal the City Council of Mazarrón. Both personal means with our councilors , as materials with the implementation of spaces that we have in disuse and that are useful. "
