The district of Gañuelas has celebrated this past weekend its management holidays in honor of San Bartolomé.
The festivities began last Friday night with the proclamation by neighboring Isabel Candelaria Garro who, after an emotional intervention remembering her childhood and her life in the hamlet, received a plaque in memory of this day from the mayor of Mazarrón , Gaspar Miras, the councilor of Festejos, Miguel Ángel Peña, and the pediatric mayor of Gañuelas, Pilar Soler.
Accompanying them were the councilors of the Government Team Plácida Gómez, José María Moreno, Raquel Raja, Silvia García and Francisco José García.
All of them proceeded to the delivery of bands from the queens and misters of the parties.
This year, the crown of Juvenile Queen fell to Sofía Martínez, Alicia Obón was the Infant Queen while María Tudela was elected Reina Mayor.
For his part, Toni Sánchez was elected Mr. Gañuelas and Alfonsi Artero and José Carlos Romera were elected Miss and Mr. Visitors respectively.
Especially emotional was this year the celebration of the Mass in honor of the patron since, during the same, the silver weddings were commemorated by the neighbors of Juan Méndez and Maribel Lara.
In addition to family and friends, the couple was surrounded by the mayor of Mazarrón, Gaspar Miras, the councilor of Festejos, Miguel Ángel Peña and the Councilor for Education, Conchi Aparicio.
After the ceremony, everyone shared a pleasant time together before celebrating the traditional 'White Party'.
Music, dances, gastronomy, gifts and fun marked the general tone of these parties in which there was no lack of activities for all tastes.
The dances came from the hands of the dance schools 'Juan Antonio Iglesias' and 'De Rosa' while the music was in charge of 'Al relente', 'Aires de veleta', Dj Garvi and Faustino Fernández who put the end point to the festivities with his outstanding show entitled 'With green apple'.
