The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has developed the operation 'Caelifera', an investigation aimed at clarifying a series of episodes of threats in Puerto de Mazarrón, which has resulted in the identification, location and detention of its alleged author.
To the arrested, so far, the alleged authorship of two crimes of threats is attributed, although the investigation is still open to determine if it is the author of other crimes of threats and the fire of a property in the locality.
The proceedings began last September, when members of the Prevention of Citizen Security of La Benemérita detected the commission of a crime of threats in the Mazarrón town of Puerto de Mazarrón.
Shortly thereafter, a similar event took place in the same town, but, in this case, using a large knife knife and apparently committed by the same person, facts that had caused social alarm in the population.
The investigations carried out allowed the identification of a young man, who eventually resided in the town and who was allegedly following the authorship of the criminal acts investigated.
Once all the necessary evidence was obtained, the Civil Guard established a search device on the suspect, since he fled from the place where he habitually resided and came to spend the night in different places of the municipality and even in uninhabited homes and in the open.
The suspect was spotted by a civil guard who was out of service, who, aware of the search situation he was in, reported the incident immediately, which led to the establishment of a device consisting of several patrols that, perfectly coordinated, they covered the possible escape routes and that managed, after a brief escape, to arrest the suspect.
In addition to the crimes clarified, the Civil Guard continues with the investigation to determine if the now arrested person is after the authorship of more crimes of threats, as well as the fire of the ground floor of a house in which, apparently, he was of occupies.
The Moroccan detainee, 25, resident in Mazarrón and with a police record, along with the proceedings, has been placed at the disposal of the Court of Instruction of Totana.
