The image of the Purísima Concepción that is venerated in the hermitage of Bolnuevo, affectionately known as 'Virgen del Milagro', has arrived this morning at the Sanctuary that bears his name to spend the whole week in Mazarrón before his return to the popular fishing district next Sunday 17, when the entire town and hundreds of tourists accompany her in the massive Romería del Milagro.
The image, after its traditional passage through the desalination plant of the irrigation community and the population center of Las Moreras, has been received in the garden of 'La Purísima' by the mayor of Mazarrón, Gaspar Miras, the councilor of Festejos, Miguel Ángel Peña, and other members of the municipal corporation and religious authorities.
There, and throughout the tour, chants and cheers have been sung to the virgin who worked the miracle on November 17, 1585.
One of the most exciting moments has been the arrival of the Virgin at the fountain in homage to the miners of Mazarrón, where the bearers of the throne have raised the image in arms among the applause of the public.
The "rise" of the Purísima to Mazarrón has already become another of the central events of the festivities, which continue this Tuesday with a conference on the Miracle of Bolnuevo that will be held by Juan Francisco Belmar in the social hall of the aforementioned district.
These festivities began last Friday with a fabulous proclamation by IES History professor Antonio Hellín, Mari Ángeles Ballesta, who put the attendees to the event.
