The first hotel accommodation in the Region of Murcia specialized in marine tourism opens its doors in the Port of Mazarrón.
The two-star Sosiego Mar hostel has four floors, eight rooms and has a capacity to accommodate 14 people.
The new hostel will attract visitors using the Mediterranean sea and culture as a claim.
For this, in addition to the theming of the building itself, it will host all kinds of events and activities designed to bring guests closer to the fishing sector, such as workshops, courses and talks.
The Minister of Tourism, Youth and Sports, Cristina Sánchez, inaugurated the hostel and said that this infrastructure "will enhance the diversification of the supply of regional accommodation."
In addition, it has already made possible the launch of the first hotel for nautical tourists in Los Urrutias (Nielson Mar Menor Beach Club) and another focused on divers in Cabo de Palos (Hostel Subup), both in Cartagena.
For the opening of this establishment, co-financed by the Local Action Group on Fisheries and Aquaculture (Galpemur) and the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund, a subsidy of 75,000 euros from the Community has been provided, and the process of strengthening modernization and expansion promoted by the regional government.
"The launch of a new hotel establishment always involves a great effort and I am sure that soon, this one that we are inaugurating today will have a long waiting list to make reservations," said the counselor.
