The mayor of Mazarrón, Gaspar Miras, was pleased that the winning cadre would represent the emblematic manor house of La Cañadica.
"This award has been a success because it is one of the emblematic houses we have in our town. Over the years, buildings and much architectural heritage have been lost."
The mayor recalled that "the bet of the City Council of Mazarrón is to work for the restoration and recovery of this heritage, among which this house is counted."
Miras congratulated the author of the work and thanked the participants "their presence this morning giving life to the streets and beaches of our municipality."
The Councilor for Culture, Ginés Campillo, thanked, in addition to the presence of the painters who participated in this year's edition, "to the sponsors who have made an important effort increasing the prizes by 150 euros at times that are not easy, betting thus for the Culture and the painting in our municipality ".
Campillo also thanked the work of Javier Lorente, alma mater of this contest, to the members of the jury, who had to face a difficult decision due to the quality of many of the works, as well as the work of the members of the Poular University and also of Town Halls for making this edition possible.
The activity was completed with an activity entitled 'Comic and Music' that took place in the auditorium of the Cultural Center in which the comic artist Juan Álvarez painted a succession of drawings on a live mural, while the musician Maxi Garcés He accompanied playing jazz music with his guitar.
An original initiative that this year complemented as a novelty the painting contest.
