On a day marked by the suspension of the acts of the patron celebrations due to adverse weather, the Culture avoided the storm with the presentation of the book Refugees of the young Monica Esteban.
The auditorium of the Cultural Center of Mazarrón hosted the event with a science fiction work in which Isabella, its protagonist, is the leader of the refugees, an endangered species formed by magical beings.
Next to the leader appears Lucifer, demon and prince of darkness, with whom he maintains a relationship between love and hate for fear that his feelings will surface.
The author, Mónica Esteban, is a 15-year-old girl from Madrid who is passionate about reading and the writer.
He confesses that "Thanks to the encouragement of a friend I started publishing on Wattpad and, a while later, I received the message from an editorial interested in publishing my story."
Wattpad is a digital application in which users can share texts for other members of the community to read and comment on.
A few weeks ago Refugees saw the light in Águilas and, now, he arrives in Mazarrón, where his mother's family sinks its roots.
The Councilor for Education, Conchi Aparicio, was in charge of presenting the author.
Aparicio conveyed the pride of this presentation because, in the words of the edila, "she is very brave; she has written a book, a huge job for a 15-year-old girl and in modern times. Monica is the reflection in which they would have to look at young people their age. "
