The Plenary Session of the City Council of Mazarrón has approved the budgets initially, not only for the year 2020, but "they are planned for a whole legislature" as commented by the Councilor for Finance, Ginés Campillo, who described them as "consistent because they have been increasing items that historically were in demand to contemplate a rise ".
In fact, a general budget increase of 5.37% over the previous one is contemplated.
"In total, an expense of 32,231,271.28 euros is expected," said Campillo, who explained that "among the increases, the municipal garbage and cleaning company 'Bahía de Mazarrón' stands out, growing by 820,000 euros. The bet for the youth of Mazarronera is a priority of the Government Team that has allocated 130,000 euros to that council against the 1,500 euros available, "said the mayor.
"The academic excellence awards are also recovered in commitment to Education and that had been eliminated in the previous legislature, 5,500 euros are allocated to the newly created Department of Pedanías that did not exist before and that has been created to attend in a special way to these urban centers, the Department of Animal Welfare has been provided with an economic heading that although it had already been created in the previous legislature did not have a budget, "said the Councilor for Finance.
Double the budget for public urban roads with improvements in accessibility and mobility and improvement of street lighting is another point to highlight with an investment plan of 4 million euros, of which 500,000 will go to Camposol and 200,000 to areas green.
The increase of the staff of the City Council in 15 places, 8 of them destined for Local Police, is also planned within the year for next year.
About 1 million euros will go to the expansion of the cemeteries of Mazarrón and Puerto.
Adaptation of rural roads, increased spending on Social Emergency, repair and conservation of gardens, transfer of Social Policy units and support to associations, organizations and sports clubs are other aspects that are contemplated in this initial approval along with dozens of performances.
The mayor of Mazarrón, Gaspar Miras, stressed that "these budgets come in time and form for the first time because, previously, the accounts of the year were approved in the second half of the year."
The mayor also stressed that "this budget, in addition to the improvements of the municipality, are also aimed at a restructuring of the City Hall areas with a public employment offer that conforms to the law."
Among these restructuring, stands out the Department of Urban Planning that "historically has been presenting deficiencies that have caused a deficit operation," said the mayor.
Miras also stressed the coherence of the accounts "because the expenses chapter is in line with the income with projects that are prepared for approval despite having been unemployed for 10 years at the City Council and real collection proposals, not as has happened in previous legislatures. "
