Until January 19, 64 pieces by the distinguished painter José María Párraga embellish the exhibition hall of the CIME building on the Avenida de La Constitución de Mazarrón.
The exhibition, promoted by the Popular University of Mazarrón, offers a tour of the artist's artistic development during the 50s, 60s and 70s of the last century.
The exhibition can be visited from Monday to Friday from 19 to 21 hours, except holidays.
The mayor of Mazarrón, Gaspar Miras, was "pleasantly surprised by this great exhibition with which once again the Popular University and the City Council delight his people and all those who visit us."
For the first mayor it is an exhibition that “has nothing to envy any capital exhibition†adding that the sample “adds intensity to the value we are giving to the Culture in Mazarrón, putting a very high level for which we will continue betting "
For his part, the Councilor for Culture, Ginés Campillo, said that "only geniuses revolutionize their environment and this is precisely the case of Párraga."
The mayor thanked the commitment and worth of Darío Vigueras, curator of the exhibition, because his work "has allowed us to see the Párraga less recognizable but more interesting, the one that collectors are looking for, the one that surprises us".
Campillo also congratulated the Popular University for their work "for programming once again, and as usual, a magnificent exhibition on the occasion of the festivities."
Darío Vigueras, who repeated as curator for the exhibition of the festivities after last year by the Mazarron artist Miguel García Vivancos, explained that “I was surprised by the room, the reception and working with the Popular University last year.
And when things are on track, why not repeat?
In this way, Párraga was chosen, although not that of his paintings to use, but also “pyrography, collages, drawings of a line, graphites.
The most creative Párraga â€.
The director of the Popular University, José María López Ballesta, has indicated that “this time we approached the work of one of the greatest Murcian artists of the last century who excelled in a regional artistic sphere, but who excelled much more as a person because he was always willing to participate in any good cause that arose.
López Ballesta has highlighted the author, something that is reflected in the show, “his polyhedral personality.
A genius who has been able to combine a unique way of life with an equally exceptional work â€.
