The Department of Social Policy of the City Council of Mazarrón opens on Monday the registration period for the Christmas Schools, an initiative in which the Government of Spain and the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia also collaborate.

This year 150 places are offered for school children between 3 and 12 years old who will be able to enjoy the activities that, on this occasion, will be held in up to 5 educational centers of the municipality as the mayor, Gaspar Miras, and the mayor responsible from the area, Miguel Ángel Peña.

Peña has explained that "under the title 'These holidays we have plans', schools will take place from December 23 to January 7, from Monday to Friday from 9 in the morning until 1 and a half in the afternoon, increasing this year the number of schools where the activity will be carried out at 5 ".

The schools will be the CEIP Francisco Caparrós and La Cañadica in Mazarron, the CEIP Miguel Delibes and Bahía in Puerto and CEIP San Antonio de Cañada de Gallego.

"Registrations may be made from Monday 16 to Wednesday 18 at the secretary of the schools where these schools are going to be held," said the Councilor for Social Policy who added that "families with lower income will have preference."

The mayor of Mazarrón, Gaspar Miras, stressed that this initiative "comes to help families reconcile their family and work life during those days when children are on vacation."

In fact, the mayor has stressed that "the only days that will not be held will be Christmas, New Year and Kings and so parents, mothers and grandparents can better carry out the preparations for these holidays."

Gaspar Miras has moved that "from the City Council we strengthen the things that we believe have been done well, even increasing them because what works must be maintained and improved."

The mayor has thanked the educational centers "their willingness to share their educational spaces with this activity" and has taken the opportunity to congratulate Christmas to all citizens of Mazarrón.
