The mayor of Mazarrón, Gaspar Miras, was received yesterday afternoon in the palace of San Esteban de Murcia by the president of the regional government, Fernando López Miras, to hold a meeting in which the first mayor exposed the needs of the municipality, as well as the projects that are a priority for the government team and for which the support of the Autonomous Community is expected.
In this sense, Miras reminded the regional president of the need to carry out the splitting of the road between Mazarrón and Puerto "since it is one of the roads with the most daily traffic in the Region and that presents a large number of trips with the summer's arrival. "
A project that for the mayor "is vital for the municipality, but also for the coastal area of ​​the Region completing the highway network".
The improvements in sanitary infrastructures was another aspect that the mayor transferred to the regional president since "to achieve a tourist destination of excellence we have to take care of our sanitary services".
In this regard, the mayor requested the intermediation so that the Ministry of Health has Emergency all year in the health center of Puerto de Mazarrón.
The schools and the improvements of electrification and air conditioning that must be undertaken in them was another of the points that were addressed.
Gaspar Miras informed the regional government that the City Council has undertaken these improvements in one of the affected centers but that there are still two of those who, due to the volume and amount of the investment, need the support of the Ministry of Education to be able to take them to cape.
Another of the points discussed was the interest of the City Council of Mazarrón for the residence 'El Peñasco' in order to make it available to people with disabilities in the municipality to make a large residence or Day Center in which the needs that The municipality has in this aspect and thus decongest the Mazarrón Day Center where the elderly and the Alzheimer's Unit and other dementias are also located.
The problem of burning agricultural waste has been another of the issues presented by the mayor who has urged the government of the Autonomous Community to leave a legislative initiative that complements municipal regulations and this matter is regulated in a manner regional as the actions of neighboring municipalities ending up affecting and contaminating their neighbors.
The counselor of the Presidency, Javier Celdrán, who accompanied the mayor in the appearance before the media after the meeting;
He stressed the importance of carrying out "the unfolding of the RM-332 that links Mazarrón with Puerto de Mazarrón, a project for the Region of Murcia very relevant and that the president has qualified as a priority for this legislature."
Celdrán explained that "for this we have already begun the search for financing in the formula of public-private collaboration and we are waiting for the ministry to respond to us regarding the implementation of the national office of evaluation of public collaboration -private to be able to analyze these infrastructure development formulas ".
The Minister of the Presidency also referred to "the predisposition of the Regional Government to collaborate with the City Council in the improvement of educational infrastructure, so that the Minister of Education will contact the mayor and the Councilor for Education to analyze which are the most imperative needs "in what refers to the schools of the municipality.
Celdrán also explained, regarding the residence of 'El Peñasco', that the regional government "is available to analyze the possibility of collaborating and launching a more ambitious project that uses and covers these needs that Mazarrón has" and that Work will be done on the control of agricultural burns because "through the Federation of Municipalities we will transfer the search for a collaborative formula to avoid this bad practice".
