The Department of Social Policy and Red Cross have signed a protocol for the implementation in the municipality of the 'SMS Program', which consists of a Socio-Labor Mediation Service for people in situations or at risk of social exclusion.

The agreement was signed by the area councilor, Miguel Ángel Peña, and the regional director of the Employment Plan of the Red Cross Region of Murcia, Encarni Marín;

counting on the presence of the president of the Red Cross Mazarrón, Carmen Navarro, and the director of Social Services, Javier Díaz.

Thanks to the protocol, from the Social Services area, people who are potential beneficiaries of this program may be referred to the Red Cross after having been informed by the municipal technicians of the benefits that may be included in their inclusion.

For the correct development of the program, regular meetings will be held between the Social Policy area of ​​the City Council and those responsible for the 'SMS Program' in order to monitor the progress of the beneficiaries until they reach the labor insertion of the same.

The program is financed by 80% by the European Social Fund and 20% by the Autonomous Community, with the City Council joining the program through this action protocol.
