The mayor of Mazarrón, Gaspar Miras, and the first deputy mayor, Ginés Campillo, met this morning in the capital of the Region with the new delegate of the Government of Spain in Murcia, José Vélez, to welcome him to the post and prolonging the good relations that both institutions have been maintaining during the last months, when Francisco Jiménez was in charge of the organization.
José Vélez has been informed by Miras and Campillo of issues related to the Government of Spain that directly affect Mazarrón and have requested improvements for the municipality.
The new delegate has shown a total willingness to continue working for Mazarrón with the City Council for the achievement of the projects that both entities have planned and has advanced some of the improvements that will be made.
In this regard, Vélez recalled that last Thursday, February 20, 80 new Civil Guard agents were introduced that will reinforce security throughout the Community and of which four have been assigned to the post of the Benemérita of Puerto de Mazarrón.
Likewise, the delegate has announced that this summer the reinforcement units will be intensified and that the Local Police will have new support for the provision of traffic.
Also, Miras and Campillo have explained to Vélez the needs that the City Council has transferred to several ministries for the achievement of several projects such as the achievement of the Alamillo promenade, the recovery of the Phoenician Ship 'Mazarrón 2' and the unfolding of the road that unites Mazarrón and Puerto, among other matters, on which the delegate has shown his willingness and support to be resolved favorably.
