The X International Photography Contest of Holy Week Mazarrón Prize 'Francisco García Jorquera' already has winners in the edition that closes this year and that has the backing of the City Council of Mazarrón, the Cabildo of Brotherhoods of Holy Week of Mazarrón and the Cabildo of Holy Week Brotherhoods of Puerto de Mazarrón.
Juan Carlos Hervás Martínez with the work 'Camino de la parroquia' has won the first prize of the international modality of the contest, endowed with 1500 euros.
This Sevillian photographer already won the highest prize of the contest in 2013 and has collaborated in the realization of it with the exhibition of photography 'Our passion' that could be seen in Mazarrón from April 11 to 20, 2014.
The second prize, endowed with 900 euros, has fallen to the Cartagena photographer Manuel Paredes Camerino and his work 'Timeout'.
The work of this author, as he confesses, moves away from the canons established in photography to enter the difficult world of creativity and experimentation that leads him to replace aspects such as detail and balance in the composition by other referents Like tone or harmony
As for the local prize, valued at 600 euros, it has been delivered in a shared way to the Mazarron authors Antonio López García, with the work 'Suffering', and José María González Sánchez, with 'Veneración y besapié del Cristo Yacente', which have Received 300 euros each.
The winners received their awards from the mayor of Mazarrón, Gaspar Miras, who congratulated the winners of this year and stressed the importance of this contest that has been strongly consolidated with its 10 years of history.
In fact, on the occasion of these ten years of convocation, photographs of previous editions have been incorporated to the usual exhibitions of the prize held in Mazarrón and Puerto coinciding with Holy Week.
In Mazarrón, the exhibition can be enjoyed at Casas Consistoriales, while the 'Casa del Mar' is the place that houses the exhibition in Puerto de Mazarrón.
