The Mazarrón City Council, since the day 14 that the proclamation of the State of Alarm in Spain came into force, has been on the street warning the population of the obligation to stay home.
For this, all available means have been used, including the drone of the Municipal Service of Civil Protection and SEM, which has a loudspeaker, through which the messages of confinement to our neighbors have been broadcast, both in Spanish and in English.
The use of drones to combat COVID-19 has placed the Mazarrón City Council as one of the first public entities in Spain to use this tool to defeat the coronavirus, and a pioneer in the Region of Murcia.
But, going a step further, the consistory was integrated into a national experimental program to manage to take human temperature through these devices, after Approcess, a leading technology 4.0 entity of the multinational DJI, could contact the consistory through its official service in Spain (DJI ARS Madrid) to participate in the project.
The Department of Civil Protection and SEM then carried out the calibration procedure of the thermal camera of the service drone, for the taking of human temperature that had been experimentally tested in China and that until that moment no one had been able to carry out out in Spain.
The test was a complete success and the calibration process report was sent to the Approcess company from the City Council, being the first in Spain to carry out this achievement.
The information has been reported to other public entities participating in the project to combat COVID-19 through the use of drones, so that other units can use the thermal camera to take temperatures in the population to stop the epidemic.
