| Work has started in Bolnuevo, Playasol, La Cumbre and El Alamillo and will extend to other parts of the municipality | The Department of Health of the Mazarrón City Council has begun to increase the disinsection work to stop the proliferation of mosquitoes that is being observed, motivated because the second residences are kept closed by the State of Alarm and there has been an increase in this insect in these places to which residents do not have access for their control. The abundant rains have contributed to this, being the month of April one of the rainiest in recent years, which could have stagnated in these places and the lack of control in swimming pools within private properties where the City Council cannot act.
The municipal services have acted on the plague in public spaces with the necessary treatments at all times, but the impossibility of acting in private areas causes this problem. In this way, it has been decided to intensify the disinsection work that has begun to be undertaken in Bolnuevo, Playasol, La Cumbre and El Alamillo, where a large number of complaints about the problem have been collected.
The work will continue in other areas of Puerto de Mazarrón, such as Bahía and Playagrande, and other points in the municipality where the mosquito population has also increased due to mainly heavy rains.
