| An action that has been sued by users for years in order to improve the safety of this emblematic landscape | Mazarrón is considered one of the municipalities with the best quality in terms of beaches.
That is why this year one of the main objectives of the City Council is to take much better care of this environment and improve some infrastructure demanded by citizens. In this sense, the beaconing of the beaches of Rincón de Bolnuevo and Piedra Mala has been carried out for the first time "so that all our users can enjoy a safe and calm bath, avoiding the presence of boats near the coast ", as explained by Raquel Raja, councilor and head of Coastal Services. In addition, a new concrete walkway has been installed on La Pava beach, which makes it much more comfortable and accessible to any user.
Still, as the mayor highlights, "there are still some beaches with a wooden walkway and soon, in the future, we will adapt our coastline so that all of them are made of concrete." Several interventions have also been carried out on the coast due to storm damage in recent months, especially on the Pava and Alamillo beaches. Finally, the mayor has taken the opportunity to report that the algae are not garbage and that a protocol must be followed to avoid removing sand from the beaches while preserving the natural state of the marine environment.
Well, as Raquel Raja concludes, "the algae are dried, the sand is removed and they are being taken to the dog beach of El Gachero so that the sea returns them to their natural environment."
