" Among the demands most requested by the municipal government, he highlighted the recovery and start-up of the Radiology Service in Mazarrón and the need to provide a medical assistance service, 24 hours a day, during the months of July and August, in the health center of Puerto de Mazarrón, as reinforcement to the Emergency Service.
Gaspar Miras has transferred to the counselor that "for the claims we have for Mazarrón, it is necessary to provide it with more health infrastructure so that we can expose ourselves as a tourist, healthy and sustainable municipality". In addition, the first mayor asked the counselor to implement and open the Mental Health service in the Puerto de Mazarrón office.
"We must take advantage of the infrastructure that we have in this office, with very large facilities and with enough space to establish this service," stressed the Mayor. In this way, and because this service is included in the Mental Health Plan of the Autonomous Community, the Ministry of Health has promised to study the restoration and opening of this service after the summer, with the formula of a extension of the Cartagena Mental Health service that "is widely used by citizens of our municipality, and who unfortunately have this ailment.
With this we would avoid the daily transfer to the city of Cartagena," said the mayor. The meeting was also used to comment on the concern that the City Council has been showing about medical transport.
Well, this is a service that has been developed for many years by the Mazarrón Red Cross and that, starting in 2021, by tender and public tender, will be provided by the bidding company at the regional level. As Gaspar Miras explained, "we have transferred this concern to the counselor, regarding service, efficiency and mobility, since as it is a service that does not know the municipality inch by inch it could cause some incidence, and therefore, we ask for consideration for that these professionals have agility in any emergency, call or urgency that is required.
