| It is continuously updated and detects the user's location through a geolocation system, while allowing the mode to be activated navigation (GPS) in the surroundings of the Mar Menor | The Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Environment has developed an application for mobile phones that facilitates maritime navigation in the area of ??the Mar Menor, within the framework of the awareness campaign on 'Good navigation practices in the Mar Menor ', started last year, the objective of which is to enhance the value of all the protected areas of the lagoon by users of ports and boats. The application, called 'Rumbo Mar Menor', is available for both Android (Google Play) and IOS (Apple Store) devices.

It is continuously updated and, through a geolocation system, it detects the user's location and enables the navigation mode (GPS) to be activated in the lagoon environment.

In addition, it allows controlling the speed of vessels to adapt it to the requirements of the Mar Menor Recovery and Protection Law and the Comprehensive Management Plan for the Protected Areas of the Mar Menor and the Mediterranean Coastal Strip of the Murcia Region. It should be remembered in this regard, that in areas with depths less than four meters, five knots should not be exceeded; in the ship exit corridors, in the anchorage areas and in the ports, the three knots must not be exceeded; while in the rest of the Mar Menor the speed limit is 20 knots for vessels over 10 meters in length. Through the application, you can also know the weather conditions, the allowed anchoring places and the environmental values ??of the environment, among other aspects.

It also offers a wide catalog of photographs, and allows users to save the user's favorite places in the Marmenorense environment, create their own collections and access them later, even without mobile coverage. Awareness campaign This initiative is carried out by the General Directorate of Mar Menor, as a reinforcement of the aforementioned awareness campaign, which aims to promote good environmental practices aimed at respecting and protecting the natural values ??present in this protected area, and for whose development they have installed a total of 10 informational totems in the marinas of the Mar Menor.
