| In the coming weeks the publication of the call for applications is expected in the BORM, proceeding to the opening of the term for them | The definitive bases of the aid of the COVID-19 fund of the Mazarrón City Council aimed at self-employed, small and medium-sized companies and entrepreneurs have been published today in the Official Gazette of the Region of Murcia (BORM). The purpose of the call is to act immediately in the face of the consequences derived from the economic crisis caused by COVID-19, with the aim of promoting economic activity in the municipality of Mazarrón, providing liquidity to companies in the municipality to contribute to facilitate the fulfillment of its business obligations, maintenance of activity and employment and cushion the drastic reduction in income.
This is intended to implement a reactivation plan once the state of alarm has been overcome. The amount allocated to meet these subsidies amounts to a total amount of € 1,000,000.00 of the current municipal budget.
In application of article 58 of RD 887/2006, of July 21, which approves the Regulations of the General Subsidies Law, a maximum additional amount of € 600,000.00 is established. In this way, those individuals or legal entities, such as property communities, civil companies or other economic entities without legal personality, legally constituted that carry out the business activities that motivate the granting of the subsidy and that carry out activities, may request this subsidy.

The granting of the subsidy will be carried out on a competitive basis, establishing as an evaluation criterion the date and time of entry that are registered in the application. It is expected that in the coming weeks the BORM will publish the call for the presentation of applications, which will be announced both through the municipal website www.mazarron.es and in the different profiles on social networks that the City Council has.
When the procedure is opened, applications will have to be submitted by electronic means (www.mazarron.es/sta) in application of the provisions of article 14.3 of Law 39/2015, Common Procedure of Public Administrations. The Deputy Mayor of the Treasury, Ginés Campillo, explained that "with this publication in the BORM we find ourselves one step closer in our work to support entrepreneurs and freelancers in these difficult times that we are living due to the effects of the pandemic." Ginés Campillo added that "there is only the approval of the Ministry of Finance to publish the opening of the call and begin the process of admission of applications that, and this is important to know, will be carried out as established by law through the electronic register of the City Council ".
