| The mayor, Gaspar Miras, has called on the responsibility of the spectators so that they enjoy the show safely | The Bay of Mazarrón will be the scene this weekend for another year of the celebration of the King's Cup of Jet Ski and Flyski that today was presented by the mayor of Mazarrón, Gaspar Miras, the general director of Sports of the CARM, Francisco Javier Sánchez, the president of the Royal Spanish Federation of Motonautics, José Miguel Martínez, the president of the Motonautical Federation of the Region of Murcia, Dionisio Baño, and the manager of the Marina, Juan Marín.
A presentation that was also attended by the councilor of Puerto de Mazarrón, José María Moreno. This year there will be 74 competitors who will meet in this competition that will take place both all Saturday, starting at 10 in the morning, and half of Sunday as explained by Dioniso Baño who has stressed that "we will have the best drivers nationwide offering a great show.
" For his part, José Miguel Martínez has described the Bay of Mazarrón as "the best place to do this competition due to its characteristics as well as to be able to be enjoyed by the public". Both presidents of the national and regional federations have thanked the City Council and the Autonomous Community for their support and the Marina for their availability to be able to carry out this event in this environment one more year.
Its manager, Juan Marín, stressed that "it is the most special because of the issue of guaranteeing all the protocols and ensuring the health safety of participants and employed personnel, which has involved a great effort". The general director of Sports, Francisco Javier Sánchez, has assured that "we have a project with which we want the Region of Murcia to become a place for the practice of nautical sports and without a doubt Mazarrón, in its own right, has those characteristics so that these types of sports can be developed.
" Sánchez added that sport "can serve as a lever to develop healthier and more responsible habits and, from this moment on, that sport will look at us responsibly because we have it all.
And we will have a lot of sport in the Region and in Mazarrón if we comply with everything we have said ". The mayor of Mazarrón, Gaspar Miras, has described it as a privilege "to have this competition for a few years and with the trust that the federations and the general direction of Sports place in us".
The mayor has appealed to citizens who attend to contemplate the appointment "so that we act with the responsibility that has characterized us in our municipality and that, thanks to this, it has been possible to keep the evolution of the pandemic in Mazarrón under control." Gaspar Miras has invited all citizens "to come to Mazarrón to enjoy this championship but also our climate, our landscapes and our gastronomy" and to the federations and the general management "to continue betting on Mazarrón, for this activity and for many others since we are characterized by always having a large number of sporting events that have been held throughout the year ".
