This Friday, June 18, kicks off the new cultural commitment of the exhibition space and cultural 'Town Hall', 'L'ore di sedia' (Times of chair) Joseph Rizzo, which is on display until Friday 3 July.
This unique exhibition pays homage to the artists, recreating the endless hours spent either sitting on sofa, chair, stool or on the same floor.
It is also a reference to the hours we spent gestating ideas, which deprives them of hours of study and play with family, friends and strangers.
Rizzo's work also contains references to mythical and philosophical, fictional and real people that somehow affect their appearance or work.
The materials used in this exhibition are varied, the paintings are imbued with blending oils mixed with synthetic varnishes and lacquers, paint for metals "oxiron" and acrylic painting techniques and blending of natural materials such as dirt, rust, ash, plants and organic matter.
India ink and acrylic are other resources that Rizzo used very often.
In the section on sculpture, Joseph Rizzo Mazarrón brings a series of chairs made of galvanized sheet and rod welded together using ironwork techniques for corrosion outpatient treatment that has not used at all because the interest is its oxide.
For the artist of note is the connection between sculpture and painting done on canvas, using a common figure in the Art School of Murcia, as a nod to the form of sculpture that currently performs as a very personal artistic experiment.
Rizzo has completed the installation of large canvases, which has led to a great satisfaction because of the magnitude of the works, which are comprised eighty percent on canvas and twenty percent on wood and paper.
