The mayor of Mazarrón, Francisco Blaya, and the Director General of Highways, Jose Guijarro, have laid the foundation stone of the second phase of works for the upgrading of the road RM-D4, which links the towns of Lorca Mazarron and where eliminate a total of seven black spots.
"The regional government is implementing a project consisting of three phases for the upgrading of a road that serves about 700,000 vehicles a year and by which they will remove a total of seven black spots, followed by signaling policy and disposal of these sections initiated by the Ministry. With these works, which have an investment of 796,475 euros, will be removed two sections of concentration of accidents and improving the layout made with the refurbishment of the tight bends and the widening of the platform to ten meters wide This will allow a maximum movement of 80 miles an hour.
Furthermore, it held the adequacy of the access to this road, which communicate with the surrounding farms.

Two black spots have already been eliminated
Last March, work was completed under the first phase of this project in two sections between 3.5 and 9.2 kilometers of road, that were referred to the removal of two sections of concentration of accidents.
The Ministry launched in the coming months the hiring of the third and final phase of the project, which will take place between 9.2 and 12.2 kilometers.
