Phicaria includes the most recent archaeological studies of the great Mediterranean capitals (04/03/2016)

Mazarrón This weekend hosts the V edition of the International Meetings of the Mediterranean (Phicaria), organized by the People's University of Mazarrón, Murcia University, Campus Mare Nostrum and the Universidad Internacional del Mar. A date for which have registered more than a hundred participants.

The fifth edition of Phicaria was inaugurated Friday by the Rector of the University of Murcia, José Orihuela, the director general of Cultural Heritage, Maria Comas and the Mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jimenez.

In the table presentations, he will also be the director of the People's University, José María López Ballesta and codirector of the match, Sebastian Ramallo.

The fifth edition of Phicaria be linked to archeology as highlighted on Wednesday the director of the People's University of Mazarrón, José María López Ballesta.

It will open the lecture series Fernando Prados, University of Alicante, with his paper "Archaeology in Carthage: a century of experience and coexistence of the Protectorate to the Arab Spring".

Phicaria address the latest related to research on the great Mediterranean capitals in ancient times: Carthage, Luxor, Alexandria, Byzantium and Rome.

Among the speakers are outstanding teachers from universities Koç Istanbul, Rome Roma Tre and lecturers from Spanish universities of Cadiz, Seville, La Laguna or Autonoma de Barcelona.
