Municipal employees and neighbors of Mazarrón have commemorated this afternoon in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento de Mazarrón the International Day of Working Women.
The event consisted of the reading of an Institutional Manifesto by the Mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jimenez, first woman to hold the post in the municipal history.
"In recent years we have made progress on equality of women and girls in education, access to employment or political representation. Nevertheless, there is still a long way to go in areas that still persists inequality as career development, the division of unpaid care and domestic work and inadequate and unequal participation of women in decision-making processes, "said the mayor in his reading.
At the end of the event has made a photo institutional representation headed by women that make up the municipal corporation.
After that we proceeded to gift a plant to all present.
