The Minister of Water, Agriculture and Environment, Adela Martinez-Cacho, met Thursday with mayors and councilors of coastal municipalities in the region (Mazarrón, Eagles, San Pedro del Pinatar, Los Alcazares and San Javier), which he handed over the 4,148 signatures that citizens have filed in the Ministry requesting authorization on beaches and / or spaces clearly marked boardwalks.
The meeting was attended by the Mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jimenez and Councillor of Tourism, Maria Angeles Roman.
Mazarrón was the first municipality in the region to enable dog beaches, and at present with three points on the coast for use with pets.
They also request that these spaces have the cleaning services necessary for proper walking and recreation dogs, so they do not generate inconvenience to other users of these natural areas.
Martinez-Cacho stressed "the importance and need for these spaces for the use and enjoyment of citizens with their pets," adding that "in addition to responding to the demands of citizens, also contribute to being a tourist attraction ".
The meeting, which took place at the Ministry of Water, Agriculture and Environment and also attended by representatives of the public platform for an accessible beach, has agreed to work on a common Signage and standardize usage rules for municipalities to have more facilities when enabling public spaces for recreation canine.
