Juan Carrion, president of the Spanish Federation for Rare Diseases (ERDF), has received Wednesday at the hands of the Mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jimenez, a heel collecting municipal subsidy of 2,000 euros made by the Consistory to promote studies, research and social, medical and scientific knowledge of these conditions.
The formal ceremony took place at the Plenary Hall of the City of Mazarrón with the assistance of national deputies, Ascension Carreño and Juan Maria Vazquez, besides the council of Celebration, Social Policy and Trade, Patricio Sanchez, Laura Ortiz and Marisol Vivancos as well as the mayor, Domingo Valera.
Currently, 85,000 people suffer from a rare disease in the region of Murcia and a total of 3 million throughout the country.
Carrion thanked the support shown by Mazarron which will invested in the search for improved welfare of patients and their families.
