Mazarrón seven beaches this summer will fly the blue flag awarded by the European Foundation for Environmental Education.
The municipality maintains the results of 2015, being awarded the beaches of El Mojon, Alamillo, Rihuete, Harbor, Bay-La Reya, Nares, Grande-Castellar.
Eagles Mazarrón is next to the second coastal town of Murcia with more blue flags after Cartagena, and the seventh municipality of Spain in number of Blue Flags in its coastline, following towns like Cartagena, Valencia, Calvía, Sanxenxo, etc.
Mazarrón has this distinction in 70% of the beaches that are within the system of bathing water quality of health counseling.
Maria Angeles Roman councilor delegate Coastal Services, also valued very positively this new recognition to the beaches of Mazarrón which also have the distinction of Q Quality (Rihuete, Bahia, Castellar, Bolnuevo, La Reya and Nares) and Ecoplayas (Castellar and Rihuete), raising this percentage to 80% of the beaches of Mazarrón with some kind of badge.
For the distinction of the Blue Flag beaches must meet a series of increasingly stringent requirements in the services offered (cleaning, salvage, etc.) in the information that is provided to users as exposing the public information on coastal, natural sensitive ecosystems and protected species, display information about the Blue Flag Campaign, promoting local rules for use of the beach easily accessible to the public and available for when needed.
In addition, the City Council must show that offered to the public at least five activities of environmental information and education.
Water quality, environmental management, safety and services occupy very important chapters that studies the European Foundation for Environmental Education to finally grant the distinction of blue flag.
Rescue Special Distinction
In addition, Mazarrón has also got a special mention theme that distinguishes him in Rescue, Lifesaving and First Aid.
