The children from kindergarten to 4th of ESO XXI century school of Puerto de Mazarrón participated Friday in the IX Carrera and Aquathlon Solidarity to benefit "Save the children".
Before the test they have received the news of the appointment of the school as an ambassador of this NGO, a distinction shared with five other schools in the Region of Murcia.
Juan Guilló, responsible for mobilization of Save the Children has highlighted that the act of Friday is a recognition to the school for their commitment and advocacy of the rights of children in developing countries.
The director of the XXI Century College, Pedro Belchí, expressed his satisfaction at this news which recognizes the solidarity of the families of the students expressed over recent years.
Patricio Sanchez, Councillor for Education of the City of Mazarrón, stressed the importance of such projects within the educational community.
The sport consists of a 100-meter race for younger children and a aquathlon (swimming 25 meters and 150 meters race) for students from third grade.
Before the start, each participant has voluntarily contributed a sum of money that is intended for the NGO.
In previous years, they managed to raise around 500 euros.
