The beach of El Castellar has been the place chosen to carry out the formal act of hoisting blue flags with the presence of Minister of Economic Development, Tourism and Employment, Juan Hernandez, accompanied by the Mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jimenez.
The El Castellar is one of the beaches that speaks of the excellence of the municipality in terms of distinctions, since it has the blue flag of Quality Tourism Q and the Ecoplayas.
The Minister of Tourism wanted to highlight on his visit to Mazarrón "the effort and commitment of the City for quality tourism".
Also, Juan Hernandez, stressed the importance of measures taken by local and regional authorities that are allowing close agreements with tour operators for the arrival of foreign tourists or tax benefits as those approved Mazarron consistory and allow opening new catering establishments, such as the first four-star hotel will Mazarrón and open to the public in spring 2017.
Alicia Jimenez has stressed the "work that makes it possible to achieve the distinction of the municipality's beaches", being the seventh Mazarrón in Spain in number of blue flags.
Mazarrón has this summer with seven blue flags on the beaches of El Mojon, Alamillo, Rihuete, Harbor, Bay-La Reya, Nares, Grande-Castellar.
