The Social Center Camposol was Tuesday meeting place of the Minister of Health, Encarna Guillen and the Mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jimenez to deal with the British residents of the development of the situation in the remaining rights of health care after the results of the recent referendum held in the UK.
Encarna Guillen and Alicia Jimenez wanted to send a message of peace, making clear that "health care to all Britons are guaranteed."
The meeting was also attended by the Councillor Care Abroad, Francisco García Asensio and the mayor of Health, Marisol Vivancos.
Camposol is one of the residential areas with the largest population of the United Kingdom in the region of Muria (more than 31% of the total regional).
In total, 13,182 British citizens are registered in the database Service Health Insurance Card Murciano Health Service (SMS).
Of these, 10,902 have Individual Health Card, that is, as residents in the region.
Also, 2,037 have EHIC because they spend long periods here and therefore are served because of their status as European citizens through economic compensation system of the European Union.
In addition, there are nearly 243 people with individual health card pensioner, 28 citizens who receive attention through a special health care agreement with SMS and 36 early retirees who have a validated by the National Institute of Occupational Safety document social to bill the attention given to the country of origin directly.
Guillen said that "the moment everything remains as before, British citizens remain acquired rights and will continue to receive attention," and reiterated that "we can not and must not anticipate the future, because it is not yet regulated output UK of Europe".
In 2015 attention to British citizens with European health insurance card or health care spending represented a 3.4 million euros.
In total, there were 6,216 bills that corresponded to 3,643 in primary care, 2,321 hospitalizations and 299 in Hospital.
