Faustino Herrero, new regional president of Red Cross and its management team have been received Thursday at the Ayuntamiento de Mazarrón by the mayor, Alicia Jimenez, president of the local assembly of the NGO, Carmen Navarro, and the Councillor for Social Policy, Laura Ortiz.
At the meeting it was agreed between the two organizations continue to work in order to continue offering service to citizens.
The mayor, Alicia Jiménez, recalled that several lines of cooperation that the City develops Red Cross.
Medical transport, with major activities in the Day Centre or the recent summer schools, are some of them.
Campaign "Junior Lifeguard"
Subsequently, Faustino Herrero has addressed the promenade of Puerto de Mazarrón to present the campaign "Junior Lifeguard" with which City Hall and Red Cross cooperate in promoting healthy behaviors on the beach aimed at children.
The activity consists of some informative workshops that are held in two beaches of Eagles and in the promenade of the Port and Bay in Mazarrón, on days 21 and 22 July.
The schedule of workshops is framed between 11:30 and 17:30.
Small monitors receive a kit with fruit, water and sunscreen.
This is intended to raise awareness among children habits to follow when going to the beach.
