The mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jimenez and Emergency Service chief, Pedro Hernandez, presented on Thursday the new boat with which account Civil Protection to ensure safety during the 365 days a year.
It is a rescue boat 6 meters long, 150 hp, with up to 15 people and equipped to sail to 12 miles.
Alicia Jimenez stressed that the objective that meets the acquisition of this new boat is "to service during times in which rescue stations remain closed."
The new boat will have its mooring point in the Bay Yacht Club and thus completes the fleet of vessels which have municipal emergency services comprising four jet skis and other craft more.
The mayor wanted to highlight "the security provided for bathing beaches in the council," so I took the opportunity to "thank the work performed by the staff of Civil Protection, Red Cross volunteers."
Meanwhile, Pedro Hernandez, Chief of Emergency, has stated that "the new boat is also prepared to support maritime rescue, if necessary."
