Wednesday October 5 began its journey an innovative educational program in the municipality that will try to enter the water sport in schools through specific teaching units.
The "halyard Everyone to the sea!" Program
It is an initiative that is fruit of an agreement between the City of Mazarrón and Sailing School Necklace.
The project was presented on Monday by the Mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jimenez and Councillor for Education, Patricio Sánchez.
This program will spend about 800 students of 6th of Primary and 4th of ESO of all schools in the municipality, reaching almost a thousand schoolchildren in total since the initiative will be extended to other students in the region during the month of June.
The project begins with teacher training centers in the Sailing School.
Then monitors in schools and colleges give a theoretical class of 50 minutes which will take material sailing and water sports to educate the students.
And in a third phase, the school will enjoy two days practice in water.
Finally teachers and students assess monitors, has just as indicated Cristobal Garcia, manager of the Sailing School Necklace.
The initiative is aimed at harnessing the resources of the bay as well as the promotion of sport and respect for the environment.
The mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jimenez and Councillor for Education, Patricio Sánchez, have welcomed this educational program that has been brewing in recent months and has the support of educational communities and the Club de Regatas.
