The Minister of Tourism, Economic Development and Employment, Juan Hernández, visited this Friday, in the company of the mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jimenez, the works carried out in the municipality to enable the stretch of greenway La Pinilla-Mazarrón .
It is a 14-kilometer route, a railway track that was not finally used.
The works, as detailed the counselor, "consist mainly of the road layout, firmly with cement-stabilized soil and a polymer, drainage, signaling Greenways, protections through railings, as well as environmental improvement, as The plantation of almost 2,000 trees is foreseen ".
The greenway of Mazarrón will be operational in early 2017, as indicated by Juan Hernández.
Its implementation will allow the practice of cycling and other sports, thus offering new leisure possibilities to mazarroneros and visitors.
Alicia Jiménez stressed the importance of these works and pointed out the need to connect the greenway with the coast and announced the commitment expressed by the counselor to that effect.
The investment of the Ministry for this project is around 300,000 euros.
