The facade of Casas Consistoriales seen from a frontal alley is the image that captures in his painting Cristóbal León, winner of the first prize of the National Contest of Outdoor Landscape Landscapes of Mazarrón "Domingo Valdivieso".
First place endowed with 2,500 euros and granted by the City council of Mazarrón from the councilman of Culture, Pedro Martínez.
From eight o'clock in the morning, after the inscriptions, 33 painters from the Region of Murcia and from other neighboring communities like Andalusia or Valencia looked for a place of the municipality to portray in their pictures.
At six o'clock in the afternoon the works began to be exhibited in the Cultural Center of Mazarrón and the jury was begun by Pedro Martínez, Luis Marino, Marcos Gómez, Pedro Diego Pérez Casanova, Juan Martínez Cánovas, Antonio Vidal, José María López And Javier Lorente.
Finally, and after a difficult assessment, the picture of Cristóbal León turned out to be winner of the contest.
The second prize, endowed with 1,500 euros and sponsored by the company Aquabel went to Daniel Parra.
The third prize, endowed with 1,000 euros and sponsored by Construcciones Coy, fell to Emilio Cárdenas.
The special watercolor prize, sponsored by Hortisa and endowed with 600 euros, was for the picture of Alfredo Perez.
In addition, four accolades, each worth 350 euros, were awarded to Blai Tomás, Jaime Jurado, Alberto Márquez and Pascual Jiménez. These prizes are sponsored by Camping Playas de Mazarrón, Santo Tomas Furniture, Ortiz Vera Hermanos and La Fundición.
The works of the 33 participants will remain on display in the exhibition hall of the Cultural Center until early next year.
