The Mazarroneros celebrated this Thursday the day of their Patron, the Purísima Concepción.
The events began in the Residency of the Elderly with a Mass in which the traditional Red Cross offering took place which in Mazarrón adds more than a century of service.
Later, at noon, the Solemn Mass took place in the Sanctuary of the Purísima, officiated by the parish priest of San Andrés and San Antonio Francisco José Hernández.
During the Holy Eucharist took place the performance of the parish choir and the interpretation of Mazarronera Mass, a piece composed more than 50 years ago by the neighbors Juan de la Cruz and Antonio Saura.
Already in the afternoon and after the Holy Mass was held the expected and traditional procession with the image of the Patroness of all the mazarroneros.
The cortege left the Sanctuary and was opened by the Band of Horns and Drums of Mazarrón.
It was followed by the Association of Infants of the Virgin, the banner of La Purísima and most mayors and alcaldes pedranos of the municipality that carried hachotes with the names of their districts, as a sign of union of all the town with its Patron.
In the procession also the Queen of the Holidays, Laura López and the bridesmaids, as well as the Children's Queen, María García and the Child King, Sergio Hernández.
After the throne, decked out for the occasion, the religious and civil authorities marched with the mayor, Alicia Jiménez, the ediles of the government team, and councilors of the municipal corporation
The Band of Drums and Cornets of Mazarrón and the Band of Music of the Master Eugenio Calderón Association, playing musical pieces according to the event, were not lacking at this religious meeting.
