La Peña "La Atalaya" won this Sunday the first prize in the traditional Parade of Chariots organized by the City of Mazarrón coinciding with the end of the Fiestas Patronales in honor of the Purísima Concepción.
More than 20 groups took part in an event that was very colorful, accompanied by the good weather and with the premiere of the route, La Vía Street being the main artery of the itinerary.
The second place was for the Antonio Jara Dance School, the third prize for the Equestrian Association "El Mazarronero" and the fourth for the Baile De Rosa School.
The delivery took place in the Tent of the Fair of Day by the mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez and the councilman of Festejos Patricio Sánchez.
The amount of prizes awarded is 1,500 euros for the first, 1,000 for the second, 500 euros for the third and 400 euros for the fourth classified.
The Classic Vehicle Association opened the parade, followed by the Band of Drums and Bugles of Mazarrón, to give way to numerous attractions aimed at all audiences like a striking Chinese dragon, not to mention the animation of typical dances such as jacks and sevillanas.
There was also space for Brazilian samba as a demonstration of these rhythms by experienced dancers.
The Carnival of Mazarrón was present one more year with its own carriage, as well as the Pensioners' Club, the Day Center with its carriages, the Band of Drums of Puerto de Mazarrón and the typical floats of the Young Queen, King and Queen Children , Third Age and the award winning Atalaya, Jara, Horse and Rose Association.
The jury valued the staging of the carriage of the Peña "The Watchtower" inspired by the animated film "The Minions", to award the first place.
