Mazarrón will once again be a benchmark for regional cycling in 2017. In early April, on 1 and 2 April, the municipal term hosts the VIII Vuelta a Murcia Master.
The test has been presented Wednesday in the City of Mazarrón by Sports Councilor, Patricio Sánchez, the president of the Murcia Federation of Cycling, Sergio Martinez and the general director of the Vuelta a Murcia Master, Conchi Villa.
It is estimated that 200 runners will be the first weekend of April in Mazarrón to participate in this competition.
Patricio Sánchez stressed the importance of organizing this sporting event with the consequent benefit to the hotel and catering establishments of the municipality.
The recently appointed president of the Murciana Cycling Federation, Sergio Martínez, has highlighted the support that municipalities such as Mazarrón offer cycling to accommodate different sporting events.
The VIII Vuelta Ciclista Máster of Murcia will begin on Saturday 1st of April with a double stage.
In the morning the riders will face a route of 33 kilometers predominantly flat with exit and finish in Mazarrón passing through Gañuelas, La Majada, La Atalaya and Leiva.
In the afternoon there will be an 11-kilometer time-out in La Majada and arrival at the urbanization La Cañadica de Mazarrón.
While on Sunday, April 2 will be held the most demanding stage with climbs to the highs of Cedacero and La Cuesta of the municipal boundaries of Mazarrón.
The route of this stage will complete almost 100 kilometers.
