The deadline for requesting aid after the damages caused by the December storm has been extended until March 28, after the approval of the Royal Decree Law on urgent measures approved by the Council of Ministers on 27 January and published in the Official Gazette Of the State on Saturday, January 28.
Following the rainy season last December, the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia proceeded to catalog the damages produced in the agrarian and cattle farms of the different affected municipal terms, among them Mazarrón.
To facilitate procedures, the Department of Agriculture of the City of Mazarron made available to those affected a model application to document and identify the damage produced on their farms.
Owners must fill out a single form per owner of one or more farms.
From the City Hall, they are advised to define with the greatest accuracy the damages caused, trying to graph them and document them in the best possible way.
The Royal Decree at the end of January contemplates a flexibilization in the justifications that prove the ownership, being valid receipts of the Property Tax (IBI) or of a similar nature.
The form can be requested in the Department of Agriculture, located in the municipal building of Urbanism.
Once completed, the form must be sent by Registration of Entrance to the City Council, or in its defect through a single window to the Community of the Region of Murcia.
From the Ministry of Presidency stress the importance of the Council of Ministers have specified that there will be aid for the holders of agricultural and livestock farms, an issue widely demanded from the Region of Murcia.
Specifically, those who have insurance policies will be entitled to compensation even in the elements affected to the farm that have suffered damage even if not insurable (including roads).
The new decree also includes important tax benefits that help to mitigate the consequences of the effects caused by this storm.
Among them is the exemption of IBI when it is accredited the total or partial rehousing of houses, shops and industrial establishments;
The reduction of the Tax on Economic Activities;
Or special fiscal reductions in agricultural holdings, fiscal modules.
It also provides for the exemption of fees when processing vehicle losses and when issuing duplicates of driving or circulation permits.
In addition, according to sources of the Regional Government, this expansion also aims to eliminate the limitation to receive aid for damages in municipal facilities.
Previously, municipalities could attend aid if the damages exceeded three percent of their current expenditure;
With the new decree, all municipalities can attend, regardless of the amounts of damages, to state aid.
