The SEF has granted the City of Mazarrón nearly 200,000 euros in subsidies to boost youth employment in the municipality
The Community will train and employ during nine months in the specialty of basic operations of restaurant and bar a total of 15 young people from Mazarrón who neither study nor work, and who are currently enrolled in Juvenile Guarantee, in order to increase their options To work in the hospitality industry.
It is a mixed program of employment and training subsidized with 118,000 euros by the Ministry of Economic Development, Tourism and Employment, through the SEF, and co-financed by the European Social Fund.
This initiative will improve the employment options of these young people forming them in one of the most dynamic sectors of the municipality.
Specifically, these students will learn the different types of service of a restaurant, such as table preparation, emplatado or cocktail.
In addition, at the conclusion they will obtain a certificate of professionalism valid throughout the country, which qualifies them to perform the profession of room waiter.
The program, which consists of a total of 1,440 hours, has a theoretical section of 960 hours and another eminently practical 480. Participants will put into practice the skills learned during the theoretical training working in a social dining hall of the municipality.
Natural spaces
In addition, the SEF has also subsidized the Municipality of Mazarron with 69,000 euros for the implementation of a Local Public Employment program, which will allow six months to hire nine other Youth Guarantee.
These young people will carry out tasks of maintenance and improvement of the natural spaces of the municipality.
Similarly, 15 unemployed youngsters will be trained as monitors of education and free time and monitors of camps and shelters, among others, with the course of 'Dynamization of activities of free educational and youth time', which is also linked to a certificate of professionalism .
The director of the SEF, Alejandro Zamora, stressed that "these programs will significantly improve the labor insertion of young people in Mazarrón by training them in one of the most dynamic sectors of the municipality, such as tourism, while nourishing the locality of professionals Which needs its productive fabric ".
Positive evolution of employment
Zamora met today with the mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez, to address other joint actions that serve to boost employment in the municipality.
In addition, the meeting analyzed the positive evolution of employment in Mazarron, where 161 people found work throughout 2016, a drop of 6.76 percent.
With regard to job creation, the number of Social Security affiliates has increased by 534 people over the last twelve months, an increase of 5.89 per cent.
