Members of the jury of the VII edition of the Quality Awards in Building visited on Wednesday the candidate Mazarron buildings.
The mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez, wanted to join the visit which was attended by the director general of Planning of the Territory, Nuria Fuentes.
The residential Los Picos in Bahia and the Hotel La Cumbre in Puerto de Mazarrón are two of the 36 candidate buildings this year to a recognition granted by the Ministry of Development, the College of Surveyors of Murcia, the Federation of Construction Businessmen and the Cajamurcia Foundation.
Los Picos opts for recognition in the modality of Residential Use of Collective Housing, while the La Cumbre Hotel does it in the modality of Tourist Use.
In 2014, the building of Casas Consistoriales opted and finally received the award in the category of Institutional Use
Candidates for awards
The following buildings have been presented in the category of Residential Use of Collective Housing: Luar (Cartagena), Alegria de la Huerta (Murcia), Victoria (Murcia), Santa Isabel (Murcia), Almenas (Murcia), Velázquez Cartagena, 38 (Murcia), Los Picos (Port of Mazarrón) and Santa Ana (Murcia).
In the modality of Institutional Use Buildings has been presented the municipal sports center of Albudeite and the Moneo building in Murcia.
In the category Tourism Use has been presented Hotel Traíña (Lo Pagán), Hotel La Cumbre (Puerto de Mazarrón), Hotel Cartagonova (Cartagena) and Casa Rural El Labrador (Jumilla).
In the Other Uses modality has been presented the palace house Widow of Molina (Cartagena), the Cristo Rey church (Lorca) and the library of Cabezo de Torres (Murcia).
In the category of Rehabilitation with Public Investment the candidates are: house Progreso (La Unión), General Direction of Planning, Sanitary and Pharmaceutical Ordinance and Investigation (Murcia), building of the Service Murcian of Health (Murcia), aulario of Nursing (Cartagena ), Archaeological Museum (Murcia), Roman Theater (Murcia), Cine Theater (Archena), archive of the Segura Hydrographic Confederation (Santomera) and the headquarters building of the Segura Hydrographic Confederation (Murcia).
In the modality of Rehabilitation with Private Investment have been presented: Hotel Silken Siete Coronas (Murcia), finca El Parque de la Marquesa (Ulea), former School of Apprentices and later Naval Museum for university center ISEN (Cartagena), Fuensanta building (Murcia ), Pelayo building (Murcia), blocks of Bernal (Murcia), building Gran Vía, 28 (Murcia), parish of Santiago el Mayor (Totana) and vestibule of the building of Fine Arts (Murcia).
Jury
The jury, chaired by the Minister of Development and Infrastructures, Pedro Rivera, is composed of the director general of Planning, Architecture and Housing;
The president of the Official Association of Surveyors, Antonio Mármol;
And the president of the Regional Federation of Construction Businessmen, Luis Fernández Mula.
The Deputy Director of Architecture and Housing, Catalina Simón, and representatives of the Official College of Surveyors, the Cajamurcia Foundation, the Official College of Architects, the Federation of Municipalities of the Region of Murcia, the College of Farm Administrators, the Center Construction Federation, the Regional Federation of Metalworkers, the Regional Federation of Construction Businessmen, the Official College of Road, Channel and Port Engineers, the Spanish Association for Standardization, the Official College of Interior Designers and Interior Designers. The Region of Murcia and the administrative subcommittee on Quality in Building.
These awards have been granted since 2004 on a biennial basis and distinguish works that guarantee the quality, safety, habitability, suitability and durability of buildings.
The last edition, held in February 2015 at the Apollo Theater in El Algar, presented 35 projects.
