The General Direction of Local Administration of the Autonomous Community has given the reason to the municipal group of Citizens in the City council of Mazarrón, declaring the nullity of an instruction promoted by the Government team of the Popular Party and approved in Government Board with the approval Of the mayor.

This instruction, which came into effect on November 26, was intended to manage access to municipal information by council members, as well as regulate the request for reports in administrative procedures.

The spokeswoman of the municipal group of Cs, Tina Ruiz, considered from the beginning that "the instruction was clearly null and void because of the competence of the body that approved it, and because it limits rights that councilors have recognized by a rule of rank higher".

The next step was to present a brief requesting, inter alia, that the investigation be revoked immediately and its application ceased, but "as is customary, the Government team deliberately ignored our request, forcing us to Resort to the help of the Directorate General of Local Administration, "said the spokeswoman.

On February 2, Local Administration resolved favorably the petition of Citizens, expressly stating that the instruction "has not been issued by a competent body, nor have they followed in their approval the procedure legally established for this purpose, since it incorporates a Norm that violates the legal order ".

From the municipal group of Citizens, and with this legal opinion, has been urged to declare immediately the nullity of the instruction, "and again to promote and elaborate a Municipal Transparency Ordinance," adds the mayor.

"Transparency has always been a firm and decisive commitment of this municipal group, something for which we fight constantly," adds Ruiz: "However, the Government team has done and we fear that it will continue to ignore our demands in the Framework of municipal transparency ".
