Last Friday the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities of the Region of Murcia notified the City of Mazarrón the extension to 40 of the number of places authorized for children under 65 at the Occupational Center for Persons with Disabilities in Mazarrón.
The notification was produced as a favorable result of the autonomic inspection carried out after the request for extension made from the municipality.
Consequently the Day Center of Mazarrón now has 30 seats authorized to 40.
The mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez, has pointed out the importance of this news, as this expansion will short-term eliminate the current waiting list of five people and will make it possible to study and process the new requests received by the center.
Alicia Jiménez has highlighted the work carried out by the Council of Social Policy of the City of Mazarrón, as well as the one carried out by those responsible for the Day Center.
The Councilor for Social Policy, Laura Ortiz, accompanied by the director of the Day Center, Salvador Sánchez, has reported the number of services provided at the center by professionals specialized in social integration, psychology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, Social work, nursing, special education, speech therapy and child support.
