The waters of the bay of Mazarrón will host the 13th and 14th of May the VII edition of the test organized by the Regattas Club and the City of Mazarrón.
The Bahía de Mazarrón Regatta is a scoring event within the regional calendar of the Sailing Federation for which more than 30 cruise ships have already been confirmed.
The competition has been presented by the mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez and the president of the Club of Regatas, José Hernández, in the presence of management and technical positions of the club, as well as the councilor of Sports, Patricio Sánchez.
This is an appointment of nautical sport already consolidated in the municipality that has been registering one of the largest participation figures in the Region of Murcia.
The competition includes two events (a Saturday and another Sunday) whose development can be appreciated from any point on the coast of the municipality, but especially the most privileged point will be the southern breakwater of the Bay Regattas Club.
Both tests will have Cueva Lobos at one end and La Azohía at another, totaling a total distance of about 14 miles.
The mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez, thanked the effort used by the Regattas Club to organize a test that strengthens the tourist offer in Mazarrón.
Jiménez also highlighted "the involvement to manage and schedule a nautical activity in the municipality."
The president of the Regattas Club, José Hernández, has encouraged to witness "a competition designed" as a sporting and tourism event in an incomparable setting such as the bay of Mazarrón. "The test will also deliver, on this occasion, prizes of greater depth
Tribute to Sabina, barbecue and great paella
The competition is accompanied by a complete social program for participants and fans.
On Saturday night, from 10:00 p.m., the Regattas Club will host a barbecue enlivened with the musical performance of "Conductores Suicidas" and its tribute to Sabina.
And for Sunday, after the trophy, there will be a great paella for all the attendees.
