The educational community of the IES Antonio Hellín Costa of Puerto de Mazarrón is in luck.
The theater group "La Marabunta" of the center has received a special mention in the autonomous ruling of the jury of the Buero Young Theater Awards organized by the Coca-Cola Spain Foundation.
The students have been recognized for the work entitled "The Wave".
The group "La Marabunta", directed by the teacher María del Carmen Marín, has several courses dedicated to theatrical performance.
The special mention of the Buero Young Theater Awards highlights the "use of theater as a tool for reflection" with the work "The Wave", adapted from the film of the same name which in turn was inspired by the novel written by Morton Rhue Following the experiment carried out in the form of a documentary in 1967 by history professor Ron Jones.
The adaptation of "The Third Wave: Fascism in Classrooms" was premiered last May 12 in the theater cycle "A scene" of the Popular University of Mazarrón and will be represented again on June 17 at the festival of Theater of the IES Antonio Hellín.
