A psychologist and a social worker will attend weekly cancer patients in Mazarrón.
This is a service that the Spanish Association against Cancer (AECC) extends to its Local Board of Mazarron to be held every Wednesday, by appointment by calling 968284588.
The announcement was made by the president of the Local Board of the AECC, Luisa Heredia, accompanied by the mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez and the councilman of Health, Marisol Vivancos.
Previously Social Policy Councilor Laura Ortiz and municipal social services technicians have held a meeting to coordinate this new service.
Marina Costa, social worker and labor counselor of the AECC, has highlighted the solidarity and involvement that Mazarrón has been showing in recent years.
Costa also recalled the work of the AECC also in the acquisition of material, in the logistics of care and in the economic support to guarantee the basic needs of patients undergoing treatment.
The mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez, has emphasized the importance of work carried out by associations such as the AECC "since they are an extension of the attention given by administrations."
