This weekend has begun the vigilance on the beaches of Mazarrón on the occasion of the Rescue and Rescue Plan in Beaches signed in collaboration with Red Cross.
Among the novelties for this year is the expansion of the number of surveillance posts in the months of June and September.
Already in 2016, during the second half of June, the positions of Puerto-Rihuete and La Reya were opened, to which this year will be added the posts of El Castellar and Bolnuevo.
In addition, next September will be added the Bolnuevo beach post to those who already served in the same period in 2016.
Greater surveillance from June to September
The surveillance campaign opens with the weekends of June, Day of the Region of Murcia and working days from 15 to 30 June.
At these dates, the positions of Puerto-Rihuete, La Reya, Castellar and Bolnuevo Centro will be available.
On a daily basis, 3 first responders per job, a coordinator and a communications operator will be available from 11:30 to 19:30 hours.
From July 1 to August 31, 36 lifeguards and patrons will serve in the 16 skilled surveillance posts on the coast: Mojón, Alamillo, Rihuete, Puerto-Rihuete, Puerto, La Isla Beach, Bahia, La Reya, La Pava, Nares, Castellar 1, Castellar 2, Bolnuevo Camping, Bolnuevo Center, Bolnuevo Oasis and Percheles.
A total of 51 aquatic lifeguards and patrons, a communications operator, three coordinators and two nurses will be available.
Finally, from September 1 to 10, 16 aquatic lifeguards and employers will ensure security on the coast at Puerto-Rihuete, La Reya, Castellar and Bolnuevo Centro, plus a coordinator and a communications operator.
Increase of aquatic rescue means
Two water bikes and a new rescue boat will increase in the summer of 2017 the aquatic means in the attention and vigilance of the beaches.
In total there will be more than a hundred professionals who will watch over safety on the coast of Mazarrón, equipped with 2 jet skis, two boats, 16 rescue karts, 4 transport vehicles, 40 portable communication equipment, 16 Oxygen therapy, 16 resuscitating balloons, 30 life vests and 37 rescue cans among other means.
The total cost of the Rescue and Rescue Plan in Beaches for the summer of 2017 amounts to the amount of 299,529 euros.
The mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez, Civil Protection councilor Laura Ortiz, the president of the Red Cross in Mazarrón, Carmen Navarro and the head of the Municipal Emergency Service, Pedro Hernández, proceeded a few weeks ago to sign the agreement that will allow Carry out the Rescue and Rescue Plan on Beaches during the summer of 2017. It was during an event that was attended by María Teresa Sánchez Elduayen, vice president of the Red Cross Region of Murcia.
