The facilities of the Petanque Club of Puerto de Mazarrón, next to the Rihuete beach, will host the weekend of Saturday 17 and Sunday, June 18, the Spanish Championship of Petanca and Phases of the European Open Sub23 and European Open Veterans of more 55, said Monday to the mayor of Mazarrón the president of the Spanish Federation of Petanca, Antonio Pérez.
The event will bring together more than 120 participants who will arrive in Puerto de Mazarrón from different autonomous communities, mainly from Andalusia, Valencia, Catalonia, Cantabria and Madrid, as well as the presence of participants from the Region of Murcia, municipality.
Alicia Jiménez, mayor of Mazarrón, stressed the importance of organizing a sporting event for a municipality that bets on sport as an element to de-seasonalise tourism and offer the benefits of the municipality throughout the year as a place to host different events .
From the Championship of Spain of Puerto de Mazarrón will be the name of the participant who represents the Spanish Federation in the European Championship to be held in the following week in Paris.
