A bilingual work of IES El Carmen de Murcia has proved to be the winner of the I Regional Competition for School Theater organized by the IES Antonio Hellín Costa with the collaboration of the City of Mazarrón.
"Shake Shakespeare" received the highest jury score of a contest that has been included in the program of the 6th Antonio Hellín Theater Festival.
In total about 300 students from different institutes in the Region of Murcia have passed through the educational center of Puerto de Mazarrón to interpret a total of 14 performances.
The second most voted work was "Troyanas" of the Helidoni Group of the IES Antonio Arcas de Lorca, while in third place was "Lisístrata" of the Caligae Group of IES Castle Puche de Yecla.
The Councilor for Culture, Pedro Martínez, gave prizes in the central courtyard of the IES Antonio Hellín, place where the performances have taken place since last June 15.
Violeta Ortiz was chosen best actress and Jorge Juan Puche, best actor.
The prize for the best adaptation was for "The shoemaker prodigiosa" of the Lights and Shadows Group of IES Felipe VI de Yecla.
"Refugees in the romances" was chosen the most original work.
The closing ceremony of the festival included the performance of Grupo Marabunta and El Picarete Rey and the performance of "El canto de Aedo".
